A queen of the saxophone today, Lakecia Benjamin plays with a fiery intensity that blends funk, R&B, and hip‑hop with jazz. Having shared the stage with legends like Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys, her soaring career was nearly cut short by a devastating car accident that left her with severe jaw and eardrum injuries. Yet, channeling pain into sound with incredible resilience, Benjamin reshaped her trauma into music. Her album Phoenix earned her three Grammy nominations and solidified her reputation, with The Wall Street Journal praising her work as “full of energy and vitality.” Her sound is a torrent of passion that commands the room the moment she begins to play. Now, with her latest album We Dream marking a bold new chapter, she brings her incomparable charisma and explosive artistry to Taiwan to ignite the hottest jazz highlights of the season!
