The boy leaves home and falls into the trap of a demon king. Chin then compares the story to his own experience of wrongful imprisonment and torture, saying reality is even more terrifying. We created the story of a boy leaving home as a metaphor for Chin’s experiences. Presented as a shadow play, audiences manipulate the boy puppet, much as the totalitarian government once controlled its victims, while also witnessing his journey.
