Judy’s  Harmonica Ensemble, the definitive voice in contemporary harmonica performance, makes its prestigious debut at Weiwuying! This is more than a concert; it is a soulful exploration spanning from the silver screen to cultural boundaries.

Featuring a signature quintet of three chromatic harmonicas, a chord harmonica, and a bass harmonica, the ensemble pushes the instrument to its absolute limits. The program travels through the romantic starlight of La La Land, the whimsical flight of Studio Ghibli’s Kiki’s Delivery Service, the poignant melodies of Ryuichi Sakamoto, and the vibrant cultural pulse of Taiwan Fantasy. Through the intricate dialogue of five harmonicas, the intimate breath of the instrument is transformed into a powerful symphonic force, redefining your imagination of harmonica music.

茱蒂口琴樂團

創團於2002年，是全球少數以全口琴為編制的專業重奏樂團之一，致力於探索口琴重奏音樂的極致表現。樂團以其精湛的演奏技巧和深厚的情感詮釋著稱，同時擁有出色的改編與創作能力，充分展現口琴重奏的獨特魅力。自成立以來，茱蒂口琴樂團已在全球各地公開演出超過五百場，足跡遍及日本、香港、韓國、中國、新加坡、馬來西亞、越南、菲律賓、德國、英國、瑞典、澳洲及羅馬尼亞等國。每到一處，樂團總能顛覆觀眾對口琴的傳統印象，以超乎想像的音樂效果驚艷全場。此外，樂團至今已出版七張專輯，進一步展示了其在音樂創作上的豐富成果。國際口琴重奏權威大師 Dror Adler 曾讚譽：「我從未見過如此完美的口琴樂團，不論在技巧、詮釋還是創作與編曲方面，茱蒂口琴樂團都展現了口琴重奏的最高境界，並將其提升至全新的層次。」

茱蒂口琴樂團在國際大賽中屢創佳績，締造多項紀錄：2004年於香港榮獲亞太口琴大賽三項冠軍；2013年於德國四年一度被譽為「口琴奧林匹克」的世界口琴大賽中，獲得三重奏冠軍及小組合奏亞軍的殊榮。

2016年，茱蒂口琴樂團首次於臺灣國家音樂廳舉辦年度音樂會，是臺灣國家表演藝術中心成立以來的首場口琴重奏音樂會，亦是臺灣首支登上國家音樂廳的口琴重奏樂團。

樂團的表現獲得國際間的高度關注，除國內的臺灣口琴藝術節外，還多次受邀參加亞太口琴節（APHF）及首爾國際口琴節（SIHF）。2017年，樂團更重返口琴之都德國 Trossingen，受邀擔任世界口琴節演出嘉賓及賽事評審。

成團二十年間，茱蒂口琴樂團多次與國際知名演奏家合作，包括柳川優子（日本）、韓國口琴交響樂團、Brendan Power（英國）、Tony Eyers（澳洲）以及 The Adler Trio（以色列）等。樂團亦多次與政府外交部、文化部及臺灣觀光協會等單位合作，前往東南亞、澳洲、瑞典、英國，代表臺灣進行藝文推廣與國際外交工作。

Founded in 2002, Judy’s Harmonica Ensemble is one of the few professional harmonica ensembles in the world, dedicated to exploring the ultimate expression of harmonica ensemble music. Renowned for its exquisite performance techniques and profound emotional interpretations, the ensemble also excels in arrangement and composition, fully showcasing the unique charm of harmonica ensembles. Since its inception, Judy’s Harmonica Ensemble has performed over 500 concerts worldwide, with footprints in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Germany, UK, Sweden, Australia, and Romania. Wherever they perform, the ensemble consistently subverts audiences’ traditional perceptions of the harmonica, captivating them with unimaginable musical effects. Additionally, the ensemble has released seven albums to date, further demonstrating its rich achievements in musical creation. Internationally acclaimed harmonica ensemble authority Dror Adler once praised, “I have never seen such a perfect harmonica ensemble. In terms of technique, interpretation, composition, and arrangement, Judy’s Harmonica Ensemble represents the pinnacle of harmonica ensemble artistry and elevates it to an entirely new level.”

Judy’s Harmonica Ensemble has achieved remarkable success in international competitions, setting numerous records: in 2004, they won three championships at the Asia-Pacific Harmonica Festival in Hong Kong; in 2013, at the World Harmonica Festival in Germany—held every four years and regarded as the “Olympics of Harmonica”—they secured the trio championship and second place in the harmonica group category.

In 2016, Judy’s Harmonica Ensemble held its first annual concert at Taiwan’s National Concert Hall, marking the first harmonica ensemble concert since the establishment of Taiwan’s National Performing Arts Center and making them the first harmonica ensemble in Taiwan to perform at the prestigious venue.

The ensemble has garnered significant international attention. In addition to Taiwan’s Harmonica Art Festival, they have been repeatedly invited to participate in the Asia-Pacific Harmonica Festival (APHF) and the Seoul International Harmonica Festival (SIHF). In 2017, the ensemble returned to Trossingen, Germany—the harmonica capital of the world—as guest performers and judges at the World Harmonica Festival.

Over its twenty-year history, Judy’s Harmonica Ensemble has collaborated with numerous internationally renowned musicians, including Yuko Yanagawa (Japan), the Korea Harmonica Orchestra, Brendan Power (UK), Tony Eyers (Australia), and The Adler Trio (Israel). The ensemble has also partnered with Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, and Tourism Bureau on multiple occasions, representing Taiwan in cultural promotion and international diplomacy efforts across Southeast Asia, Australia, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
